Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from Futurist! Our gift for you is a very special collection of War Is Yesterday Remixes we've received from all over the world. Enjoy!

Blacksheep Army was remixed by Intensive Therapy. A Russian musician living in Kazakhstan, Arthur Chastuhin is a one man industrial band who writes, produces, and mixes all of his recordings.
'My choice was very simple - I just liked this song and understood that I can do something interesting with it.'

Vaccaro, a remixer by vocation from Buenos Aires, Argentina lives and breathes music. Self-taught, he has been remixing for over ten years ago with the same software, transforming songs (sometimes a little, sometimes radically) to share his point of view, more joyful, danceable, carefree.
"I chose 'Antihero' because I loved the rich melody of the verses, which are more common in choirs, and I think that makes it stand out. When I read the lyrics, I was caught their complexity of their meanings."

Formally of the rock band Malinger, My Anodyne started toying around with making music on the computer as a way to save all the different ideas he had for songs. He released an EP (The Inside EP) in 2007, played a few shows and went on a small tour of the west coast.
"It's only in the past year or so that I've tried remixing other people's songs. I make a point of only trying to remix songs that I like, and that I know I'll enjoy remixing, because I basically just make the remixes for my own enjoyment. That's what drew me to Futurist's song “22”: the vocals were so rich; I knew they'd be a lot of fun to work with.
I've always enjoyed remixes that are a pretty big departure from the original, and because the original version of “22” is so fluid and mellow, I thought it would be fun to make it punchier. At the same time, I wanted the song to end closer to the original, so, in the beginning, I tried to make the chopped up vocals sound cool, move the song forward, and also tease the ending.
One happy surprise was how well my two favorite vocal parts fit together (Emily's line in the bridge “All in time,” and the main vocal line). I was expecting I'd need to do some work to make them fit together so well, but I didn't need to. In the beginning, I used them to play off of one another. At the end I put them together and found it really satisfying."

⎝⎛NØИHEALER⎞⎠is the bastard lovechild of drummer/multi-instrumentalist, Ben Proudman and himself. An exploration of noise, groove, dark ambience, and musical texture combine to create a genre defying experience akin to artists like Dälek, Portishead, Godflesh, and Jesu.
"A few years back, before Futurist was called Futurist, I started jamming with Curtis and Emily, accompanying them on drums. Our first session together was, if I remember correctly, at Rivington studios in the LES. At first we awkwardly fumbled through a couple of their tunes, but came together rather effortlessly on Tic Tac Toe. I remember clicking well on that one which is why I felt it fitting as my first choice of songs to remix. I continued with them on drums for maybe 6 or so months after that but was eventually pulled in a different musical direction. It's so great to see how they've evolved as a band and am totally honored and psyched to be able to contribute to this remix series.
The process for this remix was a challenge and learning experience as I've never done a remix before. With ⎝⎛NØИHEALER⎞⎠, aside from some minimal sampling, have always worked with my own original sound creations, as apposed to prerecorded material. It was a lot of fun combining elements of the original Futurist track with my own interpretations of the piece. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I did creating."

"Heart felt song writing underneath a cosmos of real instrumental sound with a touch of avant-garde digitalism make Futurist seem a likely voice in tomorrows’ scene, no pun intended.”
Thank you for the very kind review.
